The 2016 Ottawa-Carleton Northern Research Symposium (OCSNRS) is taking place at the University of Ottawa, in Desmarais Building (DMS Room 12102), on Thursday, February 25, 2016.

Registration is set to begin at 8:30 am, and we will be finishing the Symposium at 4:30 pm. After the Symposium, we invite you to the Café Nostalgica (601 Cumberland St.), the University of Ottawa’s graduate bar.

If you plan to attend the 2016 OCSNRS, an RSVP will be required to confirm. RSVP to Jenna Joyce (jjoyc039@uottawa.ca) by Monday, February 22, 2016.  

This year, our keynote speaker will be Dr. Alison Cook, who is a Leverhulme Research Fellow in the Department of Geography at Durham University, UK. The title of her talk will be ‘Ocean forcing of glacier retreat in the western Antarctic Peninsula’.

Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

  • Please prepare to speak for no more than 12 minutes, allowing 2-3 minutes for questions. In order to keep presentations flowing, please bring your presentations to the session chair during the break preceding your talk, so that it can be uploaded in advance.

Poster Presentations

  • Please arrive during registration (8:30-9:00 am) for poster setup. When putting your poster together, please note that the maximum poster size is 120 cm by 90 cm.
