OCSNRS refers to the annual Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium.

Each year, undergraduate and graduate students from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa participate in high-quality northern research studies, both in natural and social sciences. In recent years, these studies have benefited from considerable financial and logistical support through International Polar Year programs, the Polar Continental Shelf Program, and the Northern Scientific Training Program. As a platform to showcase our excellence and common interests in northern research, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa are pleased to host the Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium (OCSNRS).

The OCSNRS is an annual, one-day symposium for Ottawa-Carleton students to present their research to peers, gain valuable feedback, and network. In past years, presentations have highlighted early project results as well as publication-ready results. Please note that only current and recently-graduated (within the last year) students conducting northern research at Carleton University or the University of Ottawa will be considered for an oral or poster presentation. Northern research eligibility is defined in the same manner as by the NSTP.

The 2019 OCSNRS will be hosted by Carleton University.
