Eligibility
Any graduate or undergraduate student at the University of Ottawa or Carleton University whose research involves the north is welcome to present or attend. Students from any discipline are encouraged to participate, as long as their research involves the geographic north. Posters and presentations may be in English or French.

Photo Contest
We will be hosting a photo contest for students who would like to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of northern landscapes.
Who can participate?
Anyone attending the symposium can participate. You don’t have to be presenting to participate in the photo contest.
What do you have to submit, and when?
Please submit a high-resolution photo that you have taken in the geographic north. Your photo can be of any subject – people, animals, plants, landscapes, etc.
Send your photo to WillTwardek@cmail.carleton.ca with the subject line “Photo Contest” by March 1, 2019. Please include a photo title and specify where the photo was taken.
How will the winner be chosen?
Participants and guests to the symposium can vote for their favourite photo during the day. The winner will receive his or her photo printed in large format and framed.

Les étudiants de 1er cycle, maitrise, ou doctorat de toutes disciplines confondues sont les bienvenus, tant que leur recherche concerne le nord géographique. Les affiches et les présentations peuvent être en anglais ou en français.

Concours Photo
Un concours de photographie est organisé dans le cadre du symposium pour exposer la beauté des paysages nordiques dans les photos d’étudiant(e)s.
Qui peut participer?
Tous ceux qui seront présents lors du symposium. Vous n’avez pas besoin de soumettre un résumé pour une affiche ou une présentation pour participer au concours.
Qu’est-ce que vous devez soumettre et quand?
Une photo de haute-résolution qui a été prise dans le le nord géographique. Tous les types de photos sont acceptés, c.-à-d. personnes, faune, flore, paysages, etc. Envoyer votre photo avec un titre et l’endroit où elle a été prise à WillTwardek@cmail.carleton.ca dans ou courriel séparé avec l’objet « Concours Photo » avant le 1 mars 2019.
Comment sera choisi le gagnant?
Les participants au symposium pourront voter pour leur photo favorite durant la journée. Le ou la gagnant(e) recevra sa photo imprimée et encadrée en grand format.
