Science Café – Lovers and a Dangerous Tine: The Remarkable Sex Life of Moose

(Ottawa) –  Moose appear to be quiet, innocuous animals for most of the year but during their breeding season, the Rut, they become highly animated and vocal creatures.

Join Carleton Biology Professor Michael Runtz on Wednesday, Feb. 10, for a highly visual presentation that will explore the ageless rituals of moose love, including the roles played by the bulls’ antlers.

The discussion, followed by a question and answer period, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wild Oat Café at 817 Bank Street in the Glebe.

The Science Café series is organized by the Faculty of Science at Carleton University to discuss relevant issues facing our society and how science can help solve real-world problems. Meet our award-winning faculty members as they share their excitement about science with the community. For more information visit www.carleton.ca/science/cafe/.
