Our Biology Assistant Professor Rachel Buxton, has been awarded an Early Researcher Award (ERA) from the Ontario government. Buxton is one of four Carleton researchers recognized this year as part of a $75 million provincial investment in 162 research and innovation projects through the ERAs and the Ontario Research Fund.

Buxton’s team will receive $140,000 in provincial funding, with Carleton contributing an additional $50,000 in support. Her research focuses on developing nature-based solutions to address biodiversity loss and rising mental health challenges, particularly in urban areas of southern Ontario.
