CHEM 2203/7Synchronous online classes. Video labs will be carried out remotely. The laboratories for organic chemistry 2203 course are offered online and will start on the week of September 14, 2020. The labs are scheduled to run on a weekly basis (weekly module) and they are offered in an asynchronous manner via cuLearn; e.g. if the student is scheduled for a Monday AM section, he/she has time to prepare for the experiment and submit the assignments until the next experiment is scheduled (the following Monday). Depending on their type, some of the experiments will last for 2 weeks.  The student is expected to prepare (read the posted documentation and watch the experimental video) for each experiment/module and submit the weekly assignments at the due dates posted on cuLearn. Office hours with the Lab Coordinator, teaching assistants and contact with fellow students will be offered through cuLearn.

CHEM 2302CHEM 2302 will be a combination of pre-recorded lectures with periodic tutorials at the normally scheduled lecture time.  The labs will be synchronous and live (and online).

CHEM 3100cuLearn will be used for pre-recorded video content of lecture and lab content and lab quizzes. Streaming tutorial and office hour sessions with the prof and TAs will be done using cuLearn or Zoom.

CHEM 3101Unknown
CHEM 3201Course content will consist of short primer videos (posted on cuLearn) in advance of synchronous online lectures. Lecture content will be delivered in scheduled synchronous lectures (two 80-minute sessions each week), which will be recorded and available for asynchronous viewing. Weekly synchronous tutorials (80 minutes) will be interactive and allow students to work on problems in real time, in small groups, in conjunction with the professor and/or TAs. Due to the nature of the group work in tutorials, it will likely not be recorded and available in its entirety for asynchronous learning. However, certain components of the tutorials will almost certainly be available for asynchronous learning.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fall 2020 Food Science laboratory courses will be held online through cuLearn. Each experiment will contain content (videos and documents) that will be used to complete learning activities and experiment assignments. Each experiment will take a total of two weeks. Where in the first week the students are expected to prepare a pre-lab, watch/read the content provided and complete learning activities such as video quizzes, video critiques etc. The second week will require for the student to hand in assignments such as data analysis and writing a lab report. Contact with the Lab Coordinator, TAs and fellow students will be available through cuLearn.
