HIGH SCHOOL VISITS IN THE SUPERLAB
Visit us for a hands-on experiment in the Superlab, a lecture from one of our established professors, a free lunch at our premium dining hall, and a campus tour.
The Chemistry Experiment
Detection of iron ions in water is important because of their role in both the environment and the human body. Determine the concentration of an unknown iron sample using colourimetric analysis. Prepare a calibration curve, measure absorbance with a spectrophotometer, prepare a plot of absorbance versus concentration, and calculate the concentration of unknown samples. Please read and discuss the protocol before your visit. Maximum of one booking date per school, 35 student capacity.
