Katherine Graham makes a short speech after winning CBRC’s inaugural Special Achievement Award.

Katherine Graham, a member of CFICE’s Steering Committee (and past Academic Co-chair), was awarded the inaugural Special Achievement Award by Community Based Research Canada (CRBC) at Community College and University Expo (C2UExpo) 2017 (May 1-5, 2017).

The award recognizes those who best represent CRBC’s values and demonstrate outstanding contributions to community based research.

Graham is a co-founder of the CRBC, conceiving the organization at CU2Expo in 2007. Serving as its chair until last year, Graham helped to grow the CRBC from infancy into an internationally connected network.

She is the founding coordinator of the Carleton University Institute on the Ethics of Research with Indigenous Peoples (CUIERIP) and is currently working on youth and community capacity building in northwestern Ontario.
