The University of Winnipeg invites applications from outstanding scholars with a strong research profile for a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Urban Indigenous Policy. This Tier I Canada Research Chair will explore urban policy within a broad context that may include but are not limited to the following: Indigenous government structures and formal and informal Indigenous political organizations; treaty, human, non-human and other relations in cities; urban Indigenous organizations, services and political activity; etc.
The Tier I Canada Research Chair in Urban Indigenous Policy is expected to engage regularly with Indigenous scholarship and to disseminate their work to Indigenous communities. The successful candidate will have a sense of their own Indigenous identity, a strong relationship to their Indigenous nation, and a demonstrated ability to incorporate these in their research and teaching at the University of Winnipeg.
