Barb MacQuarrie, a member of CFICE’s Violence Against Women hub’s steering committee, was featured in a CBC article today on how to curb domestic violence. Barb spoke from her position as the community director of the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children at the University of Western Ontario.

According to Barb, we all have a role to play in recognizing and intervening when someone we know is experiencing abuse.

We do have a lot of power…to be able to have a conversation with somebody and say ‘I see this happening, are you okay? I see this happening, do you know you can go here, here and here in your community?’
