Poverty Studies Summer Institute – KNOW Poverty

The Summer Institute is a unique opportunity that brings together students, practitioners, and persons with a lived experience of poverty in an intimate learning community. Participants engage in active learning and discussion about the causes and impacts of poverty, as well as best practices for how to alleviate and end it.

The program runs from May 28–June 15, 2018 and includes 1-day and 3-day workshops, as well as 5-day courses. Topics cover the material, social and spiritual dimensions of poverty, providing both the knowledge and skill base to work effectively in the practice of Poverty Reduction. Courses may be taken for professional development or for credit and include:

• Co-op Development for Poverty Reduction
• Community Development for Local Congregations
