Fire Extinguisher Training Overview

Fire safety equipment and understanding the safe operation of fire safety equipment is vital for a fire-safe home and a fire-safe campus. The Fire Extinguisher Training session is an outdoor session held in collaboration with Ottawa Fire Services where participants get safe hands-on experience and practice with a fire extinguisher on controlled, live fire. The instructor has complete control over the fire at all times during the session. During this 1.5-hour session, participants will discuss and practice:

  • Types, features, and safe operation of fire extinguishers
  • Fire safety awareness

NOTE: All sessions are outdoors and are dependent on the weather. In the event of inclement weather, the session will be rescheduled to a later date. Confirmed participants will receive confirmation of any changes to the schedule via email.
