Simulated Fire Extinguisher Training
Fire safety equipment and understanding the safe operation of fire safety equipment is vital for a fire-safe home and a fire-safe campus. The Fire Extinguisher Training session is an indoor session held in collaboration with Ottawa Fire Services where participants get safe hands-on experience utilizing a simulated fire and extinguisher. This is a drop in session that requires no registration and are held 2-3 times per year. (Our next session will be on Wednesday May 7th from 9:30-11:30am 4th floor Nideyinàn)

LIVE – Fire Extinguisher Training Overview
Fire safety equipment and understanding the safe operation of fire safety equipment is vital for a fire-safe home and a fire-safe campus. The Fire Extinguisher Training session is an outdoor session held in collaboration with Ottawa Fire Services where participants get safe hands-on experience and practice with a fire extinguisher on controlled, live fire. The instructor has complete control over the fire at all times during the session. During this 1.5-hour session, participants will discuss and practice:
- Types, features, and safe operation of fire extinguishers
- Fire safety awareness
NOTE: All sessions are outdoors and are dependent on the weather. In the event of inclement weather, the session will be rescheduled to a later date. Confirmed participants will receive confirmation of any changes to the schedule via email.
