In this Industry Talk, you will hear from Lise Arnett, Yvonne Hale, and Katherine Comunale about what skills and tools engineering and information technology graduates should know when entering the workforce. You will also hear about CGI‘s tangible commitments to supporting women in STEM.

This event will be held in-person and there will be light refreshments available for attendees.

Who can attend the event?

We encourage women from all backgrounds and identities to join this Candid Conversation, especially women students in a Carleton University Bachelor, Master’s or Doctoral program, of: engineering, IT, applied science, computer science, mathematics, or physics. We are committed to creating spaces that are welcoming and supportive to women of all backgrounds, intersecting identities, and experiences – including racialized women, women with disabilities, Indigenous women, etc.

Speakers

Lise Arnett, Vice President, Consulting Services

Lise Arnett is Vice President Consulting Services for CGI and leads the Financial Regulatory sector of accounts in the National Capital Region. She is a Financial Services expert with more than 40 years in the industry. Lise assists senior executives with defining key strategies that deliver the organization’s business objectives. She is an expert in enterprise-level delivery and change management and assists clients with design, initiation and execution of large-scale transformations.


Yvonne Hale, Talent Acquisition Manager

Yvonne Hale, has been in Talent Acquisition for the past 15 years and is currently the Talent Acquisition Manager for two fun, amazing teams at CGI.  As a member of the DE&I council for NCR she loves connecting with people, facilitating hires and building relationships.  Since joining CGI in December of 2020, she has participated in number of initiatives including national job fairs and career coaching labs. “When you love what you do, work never feels like work!


Katherine Comunale, Director, Business Operations

Katherine Comunale (affectionately known as “KC”) is Director of Business Operations at CGI for the National Capital Region business unit. A member of the Ottawa-Gatineau Women of CGI Canada affinity group and Community & Social Responsibility Lead for NCR, KC began her career studying business information systems, specializing in development and R&D. She then moved into Tier 1 services (IT outsourcing) followed by IT security for over 10 years before taking on her current role. From start-ups to larger firms, she is proud to have spent most of her career for Canadian companies, most notably CGI for the past 18 years!
