Tuition & Funding

Tuition and Fees

Engineering Practice students can estimate their tuition and ancillary fees per term using Carleton’s Tuition and Fees Estimator. The estimator includes both compulsory fees and optional non-tuition fees and allows students to calculate the cost for a specific academic term.

Because the EP program requires registration across multiple terms, students should account for fall, winter, and summer registration when planning their overall budget. Additional expenses such as housing, meal plans, and personal living costs should also be considered.

As a full-time EP student, you may be eligible to apply for graduate awards and funding opportunities once you are enrolled in the program.

Working on Campus

Working part-time while studying can be a great way to help cover the cost of university while gaining valuable professional experience. While the Engineering Practice program does not offer teaching assistant (TA) or research assistant (RA) positions, many units across Carleton hire students throughout the academic year. Students can explore a variety of on-campus employment opportunities and access support through Carleton’s Career Services, which offers job search assistance, career counselling, and other employment resources.

International Student Employment Program

The International Student Employment Program (ISEP) helps international students prepare for and secure paid experiential learning opportunities. Students have access to career support, including job search and interview preparation, paid placements on campus and in the community, and online resources focused on Canadian hiring practices and workplace culture.
