Biography
Shawn is a PhD candidate in the Ethics and Public Affairs program. He holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Carleton University and graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University, earning a Master of Science in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis after completing a capstone thesis aimed at providing solutions to retention issues within the Canadian Armed Forces Military Police (CAF MP). In addition to his academic pursuits, Shawn has been a serving member of the CAF MP since 2009 and has spent the majority of his career with the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service as a criminal investigator as well as a former team lead for the Sexual Offences Response Team. His current research interest concerns addressing the problem of sexual violence and misconduct within the CAF through ethics based analysis and policy reform.
