A regular workshop is held on a variety of practical topics not usually covered in courses, including career development. Students register for this as EPAF 5800 every Fall and Winter term, throughout their program. Sessions variously feature guest speakers and facilitators, EPAF faculty, and upper-year EPAF students sharing their work and experience.
Winter 2025 Workshops
The next EPAF 5800 workshop will take place on April 3rd from 6:00-7:00pm. We will be joined by Ph.D. holders, Dr. Lucy Rodina and Dr. Tasha Beeds working in the Canada Water Agency who balance academia with policy work in the Government of Canada. They will speak to their experiences with ethics, the transition to government, the policy creation process, and more!
Fall 2025 Workshops
The first EPAF 5800 workshop of the 2024-25 academic year will be September 10th from 5:00pm-6:30pm. The workshop will cover grant writing and awards applications for external funding for graduate students. The workshop will be run by Professor Vida Panitch on Zoom. Please email EPAF@Carleton.ca for the zoom link if needed.
