In December 2010, Cynthia and Yves Bled agreed to endow a bursary and a scholarship in European Studies at Carleton University, the terms of which are below.  Each will provide an annual award of approximately 2000 dollars for a graduate student.  We thank the Bleds for their willingness to help Carleton students, especially our EURUS cohort!  More on the Bleds and their motivation for endowing the scholarship can be found in our most recent newsletter http://carleton.ca/eurus/wp-content/uploads/EURUS-Fall-Newsletter-2010.pdf.

Cynthia and Yves Bled Bursary in European Studies
Awarded annually by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on the recommendation of the Director of the Institute of European and Russian Studies to an outstanding student studying Franco-German relations. Recipients will be pursuing research in some aspect of French-German relations; Canada’s relations with France, Germany, or the European Union; or aspects of German or French external policy. A major work of the student will be submitted to the Centre’s on-line journal, The Review of European and Russian Affairs for publication. Eligible recipients must also demonstrate financial need, be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet OSAP’s Ontario Residency requirements.
