Congratulations to Tanya Rose Dupuis, a third year EURUS student, who has won the best delegate award at the Model UN conference which takes place at the Royal Military College of Canada, in Kingston! The Model UN conference is a competitive activity, where students from various universities are assigned a topic within a committee which they must then represent: Tanya Rose represented Russia. The goal is to have delegates experience the military and political procedures that countries must go through when acting during crisis.

Considering a career with the UN and other international organizations, our award winner saw the Model UN conference as an opportunity to refine her prowess in diplomacy. Her participation also allowed her to apply her skills in public speaking, committee procedure, and research in a non-academic context.

Tanya Rose was among several Carleton students who won a personal award at the conference. Her best delegate award was granted thanks to a combination of diplomatic skills and demonstrated knowledge of her assigned topic, as well as her ability to present and to respect procedure. Tanya Rose thoroughly enjoyed her experience at the conference and is excited at the prospect of participating again next year. Good luck!
