EURUS professor Joan DeBardeleben has been featured in the February/March edition of FPA Voices, specifically for an interview where she highlights the current state of relations between Europe and Russia. Professor DeBardeleben explains that relations between the two neighbours are still difficult, owing largely to their inability to resolve existing disagreements, such as continuing conflict over the situation in eastern Ukraine. When asked how the average person could better understand current Russian-European relations, professor DeBardeleben outlines the importance of understanding Russian social issues and the Russian mindset that emerged in the 1990s, following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
