Corporate Social Responsibility in the EU and Canada: Practices and Opportunities

Please note: Registration is required for this event. To register, click the link above under “more information.”

Partnering with Carleton’s Sprott School of Business, the Centre for European Studies is pleased to present this year’s Canada-Europe Business Lecture, given by Dr. Dirk Matten, currently holder of the Hewlett-Packard Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility and Professor of Strategy in the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Canada and the EU share similarities, but have started to diverge in their approaches to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Dr. Matten will assess both approaches in light of the ongoing financial crisis, the debate on climate change and the role of business, and he will offer insights on the future of CSR for researchers, business, and policy makers.

This event is supported, in part, by a grant from the European Commission, by the Sprott School of Business, and by Carleton University.
