Ukraine: Future Relations with the EU and the Path toward NATO

The Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies is hosting The Atlantic Council of Canada’s evening roundtable discussion on Ukraine’s future relations with the EU and its path towards NATO. The focus of this discussion will be whether Ukraine is able to follow its hopes on integrating with Western security structures and how this will affect its relations with Russia. Additionally, the panellists will tackle the question of whether Ukraine is able to move forward with its uneasy relationship with Russia, while attempting to democratize and build a path towards NATO and the EU.

Panellists include:

Dr. Milana Nikolko, an adjunct Professor at EURUS, whose research interests include social capital formation and conflict in multi-ethnic society; disapora studies in a global epoch; and political legitimacy in the post-Soviet space.

Denis Giroux, a PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa, whose research interests include foreign policy analysis, identity and memory politics, the role of religion in contemporary society and Canadian Politics.
