A lecture presented by: Marcel Jesenský, PhD
Marcel Jesenský, a former diplomat, and currently a contract lecturer in the History Department at Carleton University, received his PhD from the University of Ottawa. His dissertation, “Between Realpolitik and Idealism: The Slovak-Polish Border, 1918-1947,” examined the border between Czecho-Slovakia/Slovakia and Poland. Since, he has been teaching courses on the history of international relations, the League of Nations and the United Nations, former Czecho-Slovakia and European history at the University of Ottawa. His current research focuses on the diplomatic relations between Canada and Czecho-Slovakia, and the history of the United Nations.
