EU Policy Talks Lecture “Europe in the Digital Age: The Challenge of Cyber Defence”

with Dr. Didier Danet, Senior Lecturer, Military Academy of Saint-Cyr, France,

on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, 4:00PM-5:30PM, in 482 MacOdrum Library (Discovery Centre), Carleton University.

About the lecture: Meeting the security and defence challenges of the digital world is a major concern shared by European public and private actors in Europe. This includes protecting State information systems and critical infrastructures, or essential operators to the economy and society, precluding foreign political influence campaigns in social media and securing democratic processes, preventing major cybersecurity crises, promoting European digital strategic autonomy and cyberspace stability. Should the European Union play a leading role in this context, even though defence is a key competence of Member States? How would it be possible to coordinate efforts between the EU, Member States, and NATO.

This event is free and open to the public, registration is not required. More information can be found at https://carleton.ca/ces/events/. A campus map is here.

We look forward to seeing you at the event. If you have any question please feel free to get in touch with Cathleen Schmidt at CathleenSchmidt@Cunet.Carleton.Ca.
