From Berlusconi to Monti: Anti-Politics and the myth of civil society in Italy after 1989

The Centre for European Studies, with the help of the Italian Culture Institute, and the Embassy of Italy is pleased to present Giovanni Orsina, who comes to Carleton University from LUISS-Guido Carli University in Rome where he is Associate Professor of contemporary history. He will be speaking on the subject of civil society from 1989 until present, taking the role of anti-politics into consideration, especially in light of the recent Italian Elections.

Professor Orsina teaches Comparative History of European Political Systems and History of Journalism at LUISS, where he is also Deputy Director of the School of Government. He is coordinator of the PhD program in political history at IMT-Lucca.
