About the Speaker:
Maksim Kurnikov is a Russian journalist and media manager, head of Echo media, leading editor of BILD in Russian. Kurnikov worked at Echo of Moscow radio station from 2008 to 2022, headed regional editorial offices in Orenburg, Ufa and Samara. From 2018 to 2022, he was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Echo of Moscow. After the closure of Echo of Moscow, he organized the Echo project outside the Russian Federation. He is also the leading editor of the largest German media BILD, where he is responsible for creating Russian-language content. Kurnikov’s film about the 1920s famine won the Award «Redkollegia» in January 2023.
