The European University Institute is hosting a special online edition of The State of the Union conference: “Europe: Managing the COVID-19 Crisis”, which will take place this coming Friday on 8 May, starting at 10AM CEST / 4AM Eastern Time.

The conference will start with a session on COVID-19: Health Policy and Society (10.00-11.30 CEST). This will be followed by the afternoon session, COVID-19: Economic Policies for the Aftermath (13.00-14.30 CEST) and will close with COVID-19: Global Cooperation (17.30-19.00 CEST).

Christine Lagarde, President of the ECB, Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Roula Khalaf, Editor of the Financial Times, Andrea Ammon, Director of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Mari E. Pangestu, Managing Director at the World Bank, Charles Michel, President of the European Council, Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, Xuejie Yu, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Wuhan University, and Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy are just some of the prominent speakers who will respond to the single biggest issue facing Europe and the wider world today.

The conference will be live-streamed on the event website from 10AM CEST/4AM EST sharp and will be accessible to all, from wherever you are in the world, with no registration or sign up necessary.
