Guest Lecturer: Johannes Remy, PhD University of Helsinki, EURUS Instructor
Professor Remy has taught at the University of Helsinki, Lomonosov University in Moscow, and Brock University. He is the author of Higher Education and National Identity: Polish Student Activism in Russia (Helsinki: SKS, 2000) which received the AAASS/Orbis Polish book prize in 2001. He has authored numerous articles, including “The Valuev Circular and Censorship of Ukrainian Publications in the Russian Empire (1863-1876): Intention and Practice,” Canadian Slavonic Papers 49: (Mar-Jun 2007).
