Research Interests:
Research interests are related to political communication and include: media systems and practice; media literacy and education; media and democracy

Selected Publications:
Past experience also includes co-editing a human rights magazine and editing a student newspaper. She has published several times in the Canadian Journal of Communication, is the author of The Power of Persuasion: The Politics of the New Right in Ontario (Black Rose, 2007) and co-editor of Alternative Media in Canada: Structure, Participation, Activism (UBC Press, 2011). She sits on the advisory board of the education journal, Our Schools/Our Selves.

Selected Professional Contributions:
She has worked as a communications advisor for a party leader on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and for a Minister of Culture and Communication at Queen’s Park in Toronto. She has also worked for the Government of Canada in issues management and as manager of a department’s public opinion research program.
