Slađjana Grmaš
Slađjana Grmaš is a graduate of the Russian and Eurasian Studies, Russian stream. Prior to joining the program, Slađjana completed a BA in Russian Studies from the University of Belgrade and an MA at Saint Petersburg State University. Slađjana was drawn to EURUS because of its tight-nit community, where students work closely alongside top scholars in the field.
During her time at EURUS, Slađjana participated in many institute-organized events like career nights, writing competitions, and academic conferences. These opportunities allowed her to build connections with people from diverse professional backgrounds. The academic conferences also allowed Slađjana to strengthen both her writing and public speaking skills. Slađjana currently runs the EURUS Russian tutoring program, which provides one-on-one Russian language lessons for a dozen EURUS graduate students. She is also a Russian-language and Serbian-language teacher for Canadian diplomats and works at the Embassy of Canada in Poland.
We spoke with Sladjana on our podcast about her experiences at EURUS. Listen to her discuss her favourite aspects of the program and its opportunities below!
