EngFrosh Programming Waivers and Requirements
We have a full schedule of activities that will enable you to meet other first-year students and participate in some fun games and activities; some of these events require additional waivers to be completed in advance.
Beach Day – Wilderness Tours Waiver
One of our most exciting events of the week is our Beach Day at Wilderness Tours up the Ottawa River on September 7th. To participate, an additional waiver needs to be completed in advance. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian signature. The instructions are as follows:
- Go to this Wilderness Tours link.
- Click “Start Waiver Process”
- Enter the email address you used to register for EngFrosh.
- On the next page, complete all of your contact information and your emergency contact (If it stays on the same page after submitting, just reload the page or go back to the link above and then follow the process and log in with your new account).
- Click “Sign Waiver”
- If you purchased and registered for the “White Water Rafting” option as a $136 add-on with your EngFrosh registration, select either of the “High Adventure Day Trips”.
- If you did not purchase the $136 rafting add-on, just select “Resort Day”. Also, select one of the “Park Pass”. Unselect all other options. Then click “Next Step.”
- Follow the prompts to sign the waiver and initial and sign (type) as directed.
- Once the page confirms you’ve signed, you’re all done! You will receive a digital copy of the waiver in your email. Please keep it accessible for when you arrive at Fall Orientation Check-In at Carleton.
Rafting Waiver
Students participating in the White Water Rafting experience are required to complete the rafting waiver below (only required for those who purchased the $136 add-on for this activity). If you are under 18 years of age, you will require informed consent to be completed by your parents/guardians.
Bus Waivers
Beach Day (September 7)
To travel to our Beach Day event on September 7, we will take a chartered bus from Carleton University to Wilderness Tours. The bus will not be making any stops and will take students directly from Carleton University to Wilderness Tours. Any student participating in this event must complete the waiver below. I
If you are under 18 years of age, you will require informed consent from your parents/guardians. Completed waivers can be brought in person at Fall Orientation Check-In or sent to waivers@engfrosh.com.
Purpling & Pinky Pledge Closing Ceremonies (September 13)
The EngFrosh pinky pledge is an optional and symbolic portion of EngFrosh Closing Ceremonies, where participants dedicate themselves to the pursuit of the iron ring that one receives after completing their degree in engineering. The Iron Ring is worn on the pinky finger of the dominant hand at the end of an engineering degree, so participants dye the pinky finger purple (the color of engineering) at the start of the degree. The dye used is non-toxic, diluted body paint, and can be removed from your skin by scrubbing with soap and water. We encourage engineering students and all FED students to participate as it is a fun, optional tradition.
Completed waivers can be brought in person at Fall Orientation Check-In or sent to waivers@engfrosh.com.
Please contact us at fallorientation@carleton.ca with any questions you might have about completing either waiver. For programming questions, please contact our EngFrosh Directors at info@engfrosh.com.
We look forward to hosting you for an exciting week of activities.
