Nancy Arnold
Nancy joined Carleton University in 2001, holding progressive posts in Financial Services and the Office of Quality Initiatives (OQI), where she is currently the director. Her 20 year career in higher education has been driven by a passion for organizational excellence and supporting individuals, teams and the broader university community to realize their full potential. Nancy leads a team of accomplished professionals, who are dedicated to advancing an ethos of continuous improvement through their innovative approaches to leadership development (Carleton Leader), strategic planning, learning and professional development, Lean process improvement, benchmarking, Healthy Workplace and Service Excellence. A collaborative, strengths-oriented leader by nature, she understands the value of cultivating healthy, engaged communities and the role of good process in achieving desired outcomes. Nancy has played instrumental roles in several university-wide initiatives, serving as lead facilitator for Carleton Leader, co-chair of the Strategy for Community Engagement, co-chair of the inaugural Digital Strategy, support to the Strategic Integrated Planning co-chairs and Task Force, and establishing the Service Excellence Standards and Awards.
An accomplished practitioner and respected adviser to senior leaders, faculty and professional services colleagues at all levels, she integrates her knowledge of quality and depth of experience with organizational culture to help facilitate and lead purposeful, sustainable change within a complex, ever-changing environment.
Nancy holds a BA in Political Science from Carleton University, certification as a Personal and Professional Coach, she has completed the Harold D. Craft Leadership program at Cornell University and served as teaching faculty with Professor Jonathan Gosling’s (University of Exeter) Executive MBA Roundtables.
