Carleton/uOttawa Transgender Studies Reading Group!
We meet once a month at Carleton (and sometimes uOttawa) to discuss new interdisciplinary scholarship in Transgender Studies. Our first meeting this academic year is on Monday, November 4, 3-5PM, Dunton Tower, Room 1419, Carleton University. We will be discussing the first three chapters of Gayle Salamon’s The Life and Death of Latisha King: A Critical Phenomenology of Transphobia (2018), which are available as an ebook here. Snacks and beverages will be provided!
At this meeting, we will also decide on the dates and readings for the group going forward. Anyone interested in Transgender Studies, from undergraduates to full professors, is welcome to join. If you can’t make this meeting, but would like to participate in the group, please send your scheduling availability and suggestions for topics to laura.horak@carleton.ca and Julia.sinclairpalm@carleton.ca before the meeting.
The room is accessible via elevator. Please email laura.horak@carleton.ca and Julia.sinclairpalm@carleton.ca if you have any other accessibility requirements.
