Dr. Xuan Thuy Nguyen, along with her co-authors Marnina Gonick and Tuyen Bui, recently published their latest article Engaging girls with disabilities through cellphilming: Reflections on participatory visual research as a means of countering violence in the Global South in the journal Global Studies of Childhood. This article uses a critical approach to arts-based research, and argues that while disabled girls experience numerous structural vulnerabilities that expose them to violence, participatory visual methods like cellphilming allow them to reframe their stories. The article is open access, and can be found here.
