Start your journey at Carleton University with activities intended to prepare you for your academic, social, and cultural transition.

Join the GO-ISSO for our International Winter Welcome Virtual Orientation for all incoming students! Registration will be open from November 3rd 2025 – January 6th 2026.

Wednesday, January 7, 2026 – Online

International Student Orientation: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Thursday, January 8, 2026 – In-Person – Room 402 MacOdrum Library

Campus Tour at 1:00pm

Mini International Student Services Session 1:00-3:00 PM

During this interactive drop in session, come meet:

Royal Bank Of Canada for financial advise/Account opening
SIN (Social Insurance Number) Clinic by Service Canada
Catholic Centre for Immigration (Info on housing, resources on community support etc.)

Be sure to check out our I-Start Orientation program through Brightspace, in advance of your arrival to Carleton.

Through this mini-course, you will learn the information needed to help you transition to student life at Carleton and in Canada. This orientation has been designed to meet the needs of all international students, including undergraduate, graduate, and study abroad students. Topics include: GO-ISSO services, the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP), immigration advising, student life in Canada, navigating Ottawa, and much more!

Key Features of I-Start:

Go at your own pace. Modules you can revisit when you need it.
Get credit. Students who complete the course will be eligible for credit on their Co-Curricular Record, a system Carleton uses to record involvement.
