In this interactive online workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own homemade sauerkraut in a simple step-by-step process. Chef Amy will also be speaking to the history of ‘kraut, the health benefits of fermented foods, why these foods play a role in building a robust immune system, and she’ll share tips on how to include these foods in your day to day life. While this is a demo style class, you are invited to join in at home. All you need for the workshop is a ~3-4 pound cabbage (red or green), salt, a large knife and/or food processor, cutting board, and either a 2 litre jar with a lid or several mason jars with lids. Participants who join the live workshop will be able to ask questions throughout and everybody who registers will receive the replay, 3 sauerkraut recipes, additional information and resources on sauerkraut. You’ll leave the workshop with a greater understanding of how to ferment, the health benefits of fermentation, and if you decide to participate you’ll have your own batch of ‘kraut in 7 – 9 days following the lessons.
