A new issue of Making History Matter, the Carleton undergraduate e-journal edited by Audra Diptee, associate professor of History, has just been published.  The issue includes  “From Columbus to Kony: Old Tropes in a New Era,” an analysis of the social media campaign,  Kony 2012, by Stephanie Vizi;  “Power of the Image: The Rwandan Genocide (1994) by Emma Bider; and two works of historical fiction:   “The Life of a Slave in Brazil,” by Brendan McBride and  “Witchcraft in 17th Century Bahia,” by Emily Hersey.  All contributors are undergraduate students at Carleton.
