Rachel Collishaw reported for the February 2016 newsletter of the Ontario History and Social Science Association on a professional development session for history teachers led by Professor Shawn Graham. Prof. Graham provoked discussion by playfully arguing that ‘the essay is dead’ and described some alternate ways to assess student competencies in history.
