Jennifer Evans has been invited to give a banquet address this weekend at the German Studies Association annual meeting in Pittsburgh, PA on the New Fascism Syllabus project she co-curates with Lisa Heineman at the University of Iowa. The syllabus is a compendium of primary and secondary sources exploring the history of authoritarianism, fascism, and populism in global perspective.

Her talk addresses the role of the syllabus’s Facebook group which has served as a forum for discussion of news articles surveying current trends in historical perspective. She argues that social media can serve as an important site of academic debate.
