Paul LittOn April 10th, Professor Paul Litt spoke at a conference, poster session, and end-of-term banquet concluding a second-year history course at McMaster University that is structured around experiential learning.  The course, “Re-Making History,” developed at Queen’s University by Professor Ian McKay and now supported by the L.R. Wilson Institute for Canadian History at McMaster, engages students with in-depth research around one topic for the entire term in order to develop research, analytical and communication skills. The topic varies from year to year; this year’s course, taught by Professor Jennifer Tunnicliffe, focused on the Canadian general election of 1968. Students work in teams and participation constitutes 60% of their final mark.
