Professor Rod Phillips won the Silver Award in the “Culinary Narratives” category at the 21st Taste Canada Awards Gala in Toronto on 29 October. The award was given for his book, 9000 Years of Wine: A World History, which was published last year.
The Awards are designed “to recognize and celebrate superior writing and publishing throughout Canada’s culinary world.”
The Gold Award in the “Culinary Narratives” category was won by Vancouver chef (and one of Canada’s greatest chefs) Vikram Vij, for his book, Vij, an account of his career.
