Professor David Dean was plenary speaker at “Working with the Past in the Present”, the first international seminar on public history to be held in Indonesia. The conference, organized by Professor Kresno Brahmantjo, was held at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia from 26-27 November in Depok, Jakarta. It was attended by nearly a hundred faculty, students, teachers, and government officials from across Indonesia. Following the conference, David, along with Professor Thomas Cauvin, President of the International Federation for Public History, ran workshops on “What is Public History”, “International Public History”, “Digital Public History” and “Teaching Public History”, attended by faculty and government officials.
