The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) is hosting an amazing event Friday August 27th at 1pm ET titled “WE STILL DEMAND: THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF 2SLGBTQIA+ ACTIVISM” with support of the Anti-69 Network, Fredericton Pride, and activist scholars Tom Hooper, Gary Kinsman, and IIS faculty member Patrizia Gentile. The event remembers one of Canada’s first 2SLGBTQIA+ rights protests, “We Demand,” on its 50th anniversary. Speakers will discuss their own work and historical context, demands, and silences to provoke discussions of queer resistance and commemoration.
