Shannon is vital in ensuring that Carleton’s institutional memory is preserved. As Corporate Archivist, she leads the university’s administrative records management program and oversees all corporate archives requests.

Shannon has 15 years of archival management and outreach experience in both public and private sectors. Prior to joining Carleton, Shannon was the Director of the Jewish Public Library Archives of Montreal for 13 years where she not only updated and standardized all archival functions, but also created a dynamic outreach program that uses the diverse special collections of the library. This was supported, in part, by the implementation of an online network, the Canadian Jewish Heritage Network, which provides access to the holdings and digital objects of seven Canadian Jewish archives and museums across the country.

Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from Bishop’s University and a Master of Library and Information Studies degree from McGill University.

Originally from northern Manitoba, Shannon will be quick to let you know that no matter how cold you think winter in Ottawa is, it’s nowhere as bad as it could be.
