Come share a work challenge and elicit feedback from your colleagues.
This event will allow you to share your experiences and offer support to assist someone who may benefit from your knowledge and understanding. You can then receive the same in return when sharing your own challenge or work related issue.
What is Action Learning?
Action Learning is a method of collaborative learning. Based on small groups of 5-8 people, participants meet together to discuss work related issues and support each other in their learning. This process gives members the ‘gift of time’ to explore the problems in a supportive environment which helps them to find possibilities and opportunities they may not have been able to come to themselves.
How will the Action Learning process operate?
The process is simple in principle – individual members present a problem, have their thinking provoked by the questions of fellow group members to help them generate some ideas they can take away and try out.
- Generally the process will involve:
- A member presents an issue
- Rest of group get involved in helping the problem holder explore their issue and assumptions/barriers surrounding it
- Use of questioning and co-coaching methods to help member think, analyse and see issue from different perspectives
- Group generating ideas and potential solutions for individual
- Reflection on what has been learned about the issue and the process of learning
