Becoming a Brave Leader: Discover Your Confident, Authentic Self (Two-Part, In-Person Workshop – Feb 2 and Apr 20)

Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • In-person event
  • 506 Tory Building, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1S 5B6

This is a two-part workshop.  You must be available to attend both in-person, one-day sessions scheduled on February 2 and April 20, 2023, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

These are the times that call for brave, confident, courageous leadership, regardless of your title. The task isn’t always easy. Leading with courage can be challenging, whether it’s having an uncomfortable conversation, communicating when you don’t have all the answers, or moving forward on a new project. This kind of behavior fosters trust and sets a crucial example for others, especially when they would rather just wait for the storm to pass.

Courage is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it becomes. Courage is something anyone can learn, regardless of their aptitude. As an example of being courageous, you might not shy away from uncomfortable situations, encourage rather than suppress creativity among others, take calculated risks and stand by your decisions.

Participants will complete a BRAVE assessment to see where they are on the scale for BRAVE leading.

At this workshop, you’ll gain an understanding of the qualities of becoming a BRAVE leader and learn how to apply and implement them regardless of your position or role. You do not have to have the title manager or supervisor to be a leader.
