The Office of Quality Initiatives and Human Resources are pleased to co-host a mixture of in-person and virtual Management Morning sessions for non-union managers at Carleton University. The overall aim of this series is to provide space for managers to gather in real-time to learn from one another by sharing insights, promising practices, discussing relevant management topics, and considering ways of overcoming shared challenges.
The February 2025 session will take place on February 25th from 9:00am to 10:30am in Dunton Tower, Room 2017. The Office of Quality Initiatives will be partnering with Human Resources for the February session.
Description
The CUPE 2424 collective agreement includes an article that outlines the process that allows the organization to declare a position redundant when there is no longer a need for that position due to a lack of work, a reorganization of duties, or a reduction of services. It also ensures CUPE 2424 employees in redundant positions are supported during this process by being redeployed within the organization into roles that are suited to their skills and experience.
This session will include information from Human Resources about:
– The current status of redundancies
– An overview of the redundancy and redeployment process
– The opportunity to share feedback on the current process, how HR is looking to assist the organization in making the process as efficient as possible, and next steps
– Discussion and Q&A
By attending the session and engaging with their colleagues, managers will gain insight into the various perspectives surrounding the redundancy and redeployment process and learn about how they can help support this change within their teams and across the organization.
