Refugee-led Solutions will have more impact. Join us to learn about the Voices Rising: Refugee-led Solutions Conference held in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. Panel Discussion (February 9 at 9:30am – 10:30AM EST/5:30-6:30PM in Kenya) featuring Refugee leaders, UNHCR representative from Kakuma Refugee Camp and ILO representative, Kenya to learn about the Voices Rising: Refugee-led Solutions Conference 2023 – Kakuma’s first ever conference which was organized and hosted by refugees. The panelists will provide an overview of the event including the four panel discussions, the conference report and its recommendations, and the partners commitments to upholding the Global Compact for Refugees.
Key insights include:
- The importance of bilateral support from partner organizations, such as UN bodies, I/NGOs, government, and other key stakeholders to enable Refugee-led Organizations (RLOs) to achieve their objectives
- Meaningful discussions around sustainable solutions for displaced populations within Kenya and beyond
- The opportunity for RLO representatives to address the challenges in Kakuma Refugee Camp and the Kalobeyei settlement
- Highlight the need for capacity sharing and resource mobilization to support RLO interventions as they respond to their community needs.
