Contract Instructor Opportunities

Fall 2024/Winter 2025

Pursuant to Article 16 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, subject to Article 16.2 and 16.4 through 16.7, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following Migration and Diaspora Studies courses during the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 academic year.

Qualifications and Skills: Candidates should hold a Ph.D., or be close to completion in a discipline relevant to Migration and Diaspora Studies. For each course, preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research expertise, scholarly publications, teaching experience, and other academic accomplishments in the specific subject area of the course. Professional experience in scholarly organizations, government, or the practitioner community is an asset for all courses, but especially for MGDS 5101 Practicum in Migration and Diaspora Studies.

MGDS 4900/5900A:  Special Topics in Migration & Diaspora Studies

The Topic for Fall 2024 will be in one of the following areas: 1) Diasporas and Transnationalism, 2) Literatures of Diaspora; 3) Migration, Citizenship, and Multiculturalism 4) Immigration and Settlement. Please indicate the specific topic you would be interesting in teaching in your application.

MGDS 4900/5900B: Special Topics in Migration & Diaspora Studies

The Topic for Winter 2025 will be in one of the following areas: 1) Diasporas and Transnationalism, 2) Literatures of Diaspora; 3) Migration, Citizenship, and Multiculturalism 4) Immigration and Settlement. Please indicate the specific topic you would be interesting in teaching in your application.

All positions are subject to budgetary approval.
