We are thrilled yet again that the author of this gathering’s chosen texts, Professor Julie Tomiak, will be joining our discussion. You can find out more about Professor Tomiak here.
We will be reading the following texts:
- “Contesting the settler city: Indigenous self-determination, new urban reserves, and the neoliberalization of colonialism,” Antipode 49 (4): 928-945.
- “Unsettling Ottawa: Settler colonialism, Indigenous resistance, and the politics of scale.” Canadian Journal of Urban Research. 25 (1): 8-21.
There will also be snacks and refreshments. Please RSVP for the readings and so we know how many people to expect. To RSVP, please contact your reading group co-coordinators: Professor Cristina Rojas, Institute of Political Economy and William Felepchuk, Phd Candidate, School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies.
