Marion Robinson
Marion Robinson is a first year MA Candidate in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology. Her research interests are best summed up with the question ‘when does a refugee stop being a refugee?’ Broadly, this could be answered in terms of repatriation or resettlement, but she is also interested in the question from the refugees’ perspectives in terms of identity as translocal people, as hybrid or hyphenated nationalities. Specifically, Marion’s research focuses on Cambodian refugees in resettlement and cultural revival and adaptation as Cambodian-Canadians. She will be conducting fieldwork this summer with Cambodians in the Ottawa valley.
